#16 Budgeting Is Not A Dirty Word

Today I’m going to chat to you about budgeting and how easy it is. Because I want you to get excited about budgeting, however that looks for you. My aim is to get you super comfy with budgeting and to know it’s not a dirty word that you can’t use.

What is a budget? Essentially it’s what you’re planning to earn and spend. It measures and guides you with your money. Overall, you should plan for your sales to exceed your expenses.

Budgeting helps you work out a spending plan so that you’re not just buying things all over the place (or becoming a course junkie).

I love this saying from Dave Ramsay – “A budget is telling your money where to go, instead of wondering where it went.”

If you’re not planning and budgeting you’re just winging it and making decisions based on your bank balance.

So how do you do a budget? There are a few ways – a simple spreadsheet, through your accounting software or you can go next-level with budgeting add-ons. I step you through each of the options so you can work out which one will work for you.

Budgets don’t need to be over complicated. I give you some tips on how to keep yours simple and how to adjust your budget when you have new expenses or new hires.

Knowing your numbers helps you make great business decisions. After listening to this episode, I know you’ll make friends with budgeting and be able to use the word without feeling overwhelmed.
