Let me introduce you to the ever inspiring duo Zoë & Yvonne, leaders of a compassionate team of mental health practitioners at Amherst Psychology. Together, they help children, adolescents and adults make a real difference in their lives.

How has leaping to outsource your numbers helped you and your business?
Accounted for You helped us get our Xero account set up in a way that is easier to understand! A robust coaching session with Lisa helped us befriend our numbers! Knowing that our accounts are being regularly kept up to date and our payroll is being taken care of is fantastic. We can look at our Xero data and instantly get a clear, current picture of the business’s financial health.
How have you or your business grown/changed since we started working together?
Our financial literacy has improved considerably, and so has our financial decision-making. Since working with Lisa, our business has changed significantly, taking on more than 10 new team members and growing our revenue.
We have invested heavily in cultivating a great culture within our growing team and were recently certified as a Great Place to Work ™.
How have our streamlined processes and client portal helped you?
AFY has such great processes in place! I get reminders for paperwork that needs completion and the Client Portal (especially our Numbers Notebook) allows for prompt and clear communication, which is helpful when you’re juggling so many to-do’s at once.
Bookkeeping is one thing I don’t stress about because I know Lisa and the team have it covered.
As this is not the first time you’ve outsourced your bookkeeping, how did you approach it this time around, and what was important to you?
It was important to me to reduce time wasted in the to and fro of communications, so I chose a bookkeeper with established systems.
We also wanted to enhance our knowledge of Xero and our numbers in general, so I looked for someone experienced in working with small businesses, who could support us with coaching or skill-building in this area.
Lisa was able to work with us on both with absolute efficiency.
Was there any fear around outsourcing?
It’s always a little daunting starting to work with a new consultant or service provider, but Accountant For You’s professional online presence and Lisa’s intake process gave me confidence it would be worth it.
