Choosing a bookkeeper is a big job. Firstly, there needs to be a lot of trust because your bookkeeper will be handling all sorts of highly confidential information. So it’s really important you feel comfortable with whoever you choose to work with. Then, it comes down to working styles and processes. Today I wanted to address the latter so if you’re on the fence about working with me, you can get a sneak peek before you even book your intro/discovery call.

We use a system called Karbon to schedule all our work and communicate with you. This is what we use to let you know what information we need along the way.
It’s a handy little program where you can attach files and write comments to us. Even though you will have the same number lovin’ team member looking after you regularly, Karbon is awesome because any of our team can jump in and see where things are up to if someone is on leave or the like.
It’s also awesome because it’s an easy checklist on your end, you can quickly see what we need and get back to what you do best.
A very large part of what we do is reporting. All of our superstar clients can choose their own report type and structure that is easy for them to use and understand. It’s the little extras that make money management a breeze. Well, if you have #TeamAFY on your team that is!
We’ll present your pretty report designed for non-number loving folk to read, digest and actually understand to you as often as you like. Generally, we work on a quarterly reporting schedule however, we’re happy to send them to you monthly if you prefer too!
As you can imagine, BAS season is bu-sy for us bookkeepers. In the month leading up to BAS lodgement D-Day,, the entire team works tirelessly to get your BAS lodgement-ready.
Usually, we’ll have a really solid grasp of your income and expenses and where to code them; however, on rare occasions we’ll have questions. It’s actually imperative you respond to those questions in a timely manner. If you don’t respond, your BAS will sit in work in progress until you do. This can sometimes result in a late lodgement…we like to avoid those at all costs!
We use HubDoc software for all our clients to get copies of your expenses, keeping you compliant with our ‘friend’s at the ATO making sure you have copies of all your biz expenses.
